Sian de Courcy - Head Veterinary Nurse
Sian joined us in 2013 after graduating from Brighton University with a foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing, and has progressed to being in charge of our nursing team.
Sian has had a range of animals over the years from chinchillas to dogs. At present she currently shares her home with her 4 dogs who are her fur babies! Two maltese terriers 10 year old Coco and 3 year old Louis and 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer Byron. As well as this she also has a 6 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback called Nala who keeps her very busy!!
In her spare time when Sian isn't walking her dogs along the downs she enjoys films, keeping fit and eating!
Angela Wase - Deputy Head Nurse
Angela started at Heene Road Vets on a Youth Training Scheme through Brinsbury College in 1987. When a position became available for a trainee vet nurse, she decided to swap from an Animal Care course to a Veterinary Nursing one, and subsequently qualified in 1990. She has worked with us ever since. She works part-time as our deputy head nurse.
Angela lives with her husband and two young children, and has recently rescued a black cat known as 'Toothless', who is a fun addition to the family.
Sue Griffiths - Veterinary Nurse
Sue qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1978 after training at the Blue Cross in London. She has worked at Heene Road Vets since 1986.
Sue re-trained as a teacher and worked in SEN for twenty years before recently returning to the practice in October as a full time nurse. Sue’s favourite breed is a Boxer but her current dog is an eleven-year old rescue Lurcher called Jade. Owned since six months of age she has proved to be a challenge but wins Sue over with her lovely temperament. She also has two rescue cats; Tilly a feisty female and Tommy a really soppy black male that came to the family as a stray.
If she won the Lottery, Sue would open a sanctuary and fill it up with unloved animals particularly donkeys for which she has a real passion. But in the real world, she has plenty to occupy her time with her own brood and Heene Road Vets.
Tanya Tester - Veterinary Nurse
Tanya has worked with us since 2011 while undertaking her studies, and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2015.
Tanya Has 3 cats, 1 dog and two tortoises who keep her occupied at home. Outside of work Tanya likes to spend time at the local gym and baking in her spare time.
