Information on Coronavirus (COVID-19) for clients

During these challenging times, we are working hard to keep your pets healthy, whilst looking out for the safety of both our clients and our team.

We are closely following all updates from the Government, and are also taking advice from our professional body, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and a variety of other reliable sources.

As restrictions have now eased we are now able to resume seeing all patients for you, but at all times following the Governments guidelines. At the moment this means 1 meter social distancing from our team and other clients plus face covering. This does mean you may now go in to the consulting room with your pet. We are allowing one person plus their pet in to the reception area.

Appointments at the Heene Road Surgery

For clients bringing your pet to the Heene Road Surgery via an approved appointment, please ring the front door bell and if a client leaves the building you may enter & will be directed where to sit with your pet in the reception area. If no client leaves a member of staff will come to you as soon as possible.

Appointments at the Goring Road Surgery

For clients bringing your pet to the Goring Road Surgery please wait by the front door, stand back and a member of staff will come to you. One person will be allowed to come in to the waiting area with your pet.

Please note that at the moment the Goring Road Branch is closed on a Thursday

If you think your pet has an emergency please call the main surgery on 01903 200187.

We ask that anyone who is showing potential symptoms of the virus, namely a new, continuous cough or high temperature, to not attend the surgery during the recommended self-isolation period. Instead, please call the surgery to discuss the most appropriate action to access the care your pet needs.

If you are self-isolating due to being vulnerable to the Coronavirus, please call us and we will work with you to ensure your pet gets the care they need without putting you at unnecessary risk.

Repeat Prescriptions

Please call the surgery or you can order online and pick up your medication & food orders from either practice using our website.


Video Consultation

If you are concerned about attending the surgery, you may feel that you would rather have a video consultation for your pet. It is a simple process to enable video consultations using your smartphone or tablet.

Please call the surgery on 01903 200187 to book your video consultation appointment time. We will send you a link to start the video consultation at your allotted time.

Please bear in mind there are obvious limitations of a video consultation as we are unable to do a physical examination of your pet. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons has relaxed their stance to allow these video consultations in these unprecedented times. Likewise, if the vet conducting the video consultation feels satisfied your pet needs prescription-only medicine we will be able to provide this for you at this time.

(The normal consultation fee applies to a video consultation, but if you are asked to bring your pet in to the surgery immediately after the video consultation you will not be charged a further consultation fee at that time.)
