Angela Wase
Angela Wase
Deputy Head Nurse

Angela started at Heene Road Vets on a Youth Training Scheme through Brinsbury College in 1987. When a position became available for a trainee vet nurse, she decided to swap from an Animal Care course to a Veterinary Nursing one, and subsequently qualified in 1990. She has worked with us ever since. She works part-time as our deputy head nurse and on occasions worked full time to cover the Head Nurse position.

Angela lives with her husband and two children, and a rescued black cat known as ‘Toothless’, who is a fun addition to the family. Angela has a love for Boxers and was without a dog in the family for approx 10 years. Due to family allergies decided on a complete breed change and Buster the Cockapoo joined the family in 2017. Molly and the whole family are adjusting to this very lively addition to the family!

When time allows other than walking with family and Buster, Angela enjoys cooking and reading.

Sue Griffiths
Sue Griffiths
Veterinary Nurse

Sue joined Heene Road in 1986, having trained and qualified at the Blue Cross in London. Prior to this, Sue worked as a locum nurse alongside running her own grooming business, she also retrained and worked as a Special Needs teacher for several years.

Sue has an interest in all things to do with health and diet and last year completed a certificate in Canine and Feline Veterinary Health Nutrition. If you can’t find her within the practice it is usually because she is chatting to clients on the phone about their pets’ lifestyle and diet.

Sue’s animal family consist of two (now Senior) cats, Tilly & Tommy whose sedentary lives were disrupted last year by the arrival of Daisy, a Westiepoo, now eighteen months and a real live wire. Despite her feisty attitude she has warmed her way into Sue’s heart and is now her constant companion especially now her two sons have grown up and moved away.

When she is not nursing, Sue likes to wind down by singing in the Rock Choir, which she loves, unfortunately, the in-patents and staff have to suffer her practising her lyrics. More recently she has started Pilates and is definitely feeling the effects.

If she won the Lottery, Sue would open a sanctuary and fill it up with unloved animals particularly donkeys for which she has a real passion. But in the real world, she has plenty to occupy her time with her own brood and Heene Road Vets.
